What Influences the Export of Chinese Toys?
Toys are one of the most important export commodities in China. It is easy to found that more than 70% toys on the foreign markets are from China and 70% of them from Guangzhou. According to the customs statistics, the export toys in Guangzhou have reached 4.81 billion of U.S. dollars, which increased 5.9% compared with the last year. This article will discuss what factors that influence the export of Chinese toys.
No.1: The rising costs forced the toys manufacturers to reduce the scale of production.
As labor-intensive industry, the toys production mainly centers on the price of the raw material and the salary of the workers. The increasing price of oil even result in the price of the plastic products. The hot topic of lacking migrants caused the enterprises have to pay more salary for every manufacturer. In 2002 the international organization pot forward the ICTI certificate, which made the toys manufacturers have to invest more than 20%~30% capital to improve the equipment and labors' wedge. The rising costs lead to lower profit.
No.2: The target market mainly concentrates on the overseas market, producing trade barriers.
American is the giant consumer of the Guangdong toys. However, since 2003 the selling of toys has decreased in the next three years, which influenced the export of the Guangdong toys greatly. To improve the self-innovation and strengthen the intellectual property rights are the main effective way to solve the current problems. For example, the
